Racism in Football
Love Football Against Racism in Football
Love Football aims to ensure that all communities are embraced by football and opportunities in the game are widely available for them. Racism has long been within all areas of society and no longer has a place. Love Football aims to utilise the power of sport & in particular football to address issues within society through the development of initiatives and programs and working in partnership with key agencies and partners.
Our core priorities are:
- A-League
Working with A-League clubs to promote campaigns against racism and by offering advice and guidance on all aspects of race equality within professional football.
- Young people
Using the appeal of the game to address young people within schools, colleges and youth organisations, through the development and delivery of resources and educational materials.
- Amateur football
Working at grassroots and amateur levels to tackle racial abuse and harassment at local ovals and training centres.
- Current News
Love Football is currently working with the Australian Professional Football Association aiming to introduce the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ initiative that has been a huge success in the English Football League.
